筹备多时的温哥华美术馆重建计划早前获得卑诗省政府另一笔5千万元的拨款,省政府先后合共为建造温哥华美术馆的新馆注资了1亿元。这项计划亦获得联邦政府拨款2930万拨款,以及1.9亿元的私人捐助(当中包括Audain基金会的1亿元和陈氏基金会的4千万元)。无可置疑,这幢价值不菲的新建筑物建成后将会成为温哥华的新建筑地标。
