溫哥華Walang Hiya詩詞之夜將讚頌顛覆性的菲律賓詩句

要理解傳統菲律賓人的心理,便需要認清「hiya」的重要性。這他加祿詞語的意思是「羞恥」。「hiya」是菲律賓人根深蒂固的價值觀,令他們不敢打破社會傳統規範或提出太多尖銳的問題。「walang hiya」(無恥)更加是讓人顏面無存的嚴厲譴責。但跟很多詆譭的說話一樣,拒絕被傳統束縛的菲律賓人開始接受「walang hiya」的稱呼。
