在西方世界经营竹林可能看似不寻常,但在台湾南部,竹艺师蔡惠婷在她的协作园区中拥有超过200种竹子。这为她和其他工匠提供了各种竹子的广泛选择,以用于他们创作的产品。「我们根据使用功能挑选最适合的竹子种类,」蔡惠婷以中文告诉《Pancouver》。「每种竹子都有不同的特点。」蔡惠婷来自台南。台南曾经是台湾竹编产业的繁荣中心。在1895年到1945年的日本殖民时期,政府将曾是一门专业工艺的竹藤编织转变为工业发展的重心。
