竹藝師蔡惠婷透過鑽研、知識傳承及大量手藝活,振興一門瀕臨消失的傳統工藝

在西方世界經營竹林可能看似不尋常,但在台灣南部,竹藝師蔡惠婷在她的協作園區中擁有超過200種竹子。這為她和其他工匠提供了各種竹子的廣泛選擇,以用於他們創作的產品。「我們根據使用功能挑選最適合的竹子種類,」蔡惠婷以中文告訴《Pancouver》。「每種竹子都有不同的特點。」蔡惠婷來自台南。台南曾經是台灣竹編產業的繁榮中心。在1895年到1945年的日本殖民時期,政府將曾是一門專業工藝的竹藤編織轉變為工業發展的重心。
