就像许多历史学家一样,钟淑敏博士充满好奇心。她尤其关心的是台湾人民如何应对 1895 年至 1945 年间日本对这个东亚岛屿的殖民统治。「有一个问题在我的研究中反覆出现:『台湾人在日本殖民统治下采取了什么样的抵抗?』钟博士在视频中以中文告诉Pancouver。 「在日本的官方历史叙述中,你实际上看不到台湾人的影子。」

A Passage Beyond Fortune

Weiye Su以作品《A Passage Beyond Fortune》回应华裔加拿大人被扭曲的历史

多伦多电影制作者Weiye Su在他片长16分钟的纪录片《A Passage Beyond Fortune》读出了开场白,内容是一段个人反思。该名里贾纳前居民在这部国家电影局作品中表示:「有人曾经在萨省告诉我,每个城镇都有一家中餐馆,背后有它的故事。」由中国移民到加拿大的Weiye讲述了由穆斯乔(Moose Jaw)流传开去的都市传说。当地市中心在1980年代发现了地下隧道,衍生了这种说法。
